Ledger of Locating Myself
Ledger of Locating Myself is a project in an ongoing series where foundational ceramic processes—wedging, slab construction, and coiling—are used as metaphors for personal and psychological processes. In Ledger of Locating Myself, the coil—traditionally used to construct a vessel—is used as a method of deconstructing the psychological, generational, and geographic layers of the self. Organized on the wall as dimensional and abstract lines of a ledger, this work takes inspiration from the earliest cuneiform tablets that recorded barter and transactions from everyday life.
